Woman Deep In Thought

Do I need counselling?

Many people think about counselling for a long time before reaching out.

You might find yourself wondering:

  • Are my problems serious enough for counselling?

  • Should I be able to cope with this on my own?

  • What if I don’t know where to start?

These thoughts are incredibly common.

Wondering if counselling could help?
I  offer online counselling across the UK supporting anxiety, trauma, relationships and neurodivergent individuals and families.

Counselling isn’t only for times of crisis. Many people seek counselling simply because they want a safe and supportive space to talk, reflect and better understand themselves.

Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, but it can also be the beginning of positive change.

You might consider counselling if you are experiencing:

Anxiety or constant overthinking

Feeling worried, overwhelmed or stuck in cycles of negative thoughts.

Stress or emotional burnout

Struggling to cope with work pressures, life transitions or ongoing stress.

Relationship difficulties

Finding it difficult to communicate your needs or noticing repeating patterns in relationships.

Past experiences or trauma

Wanting to explore experiences from the past that still affect how you feel today.

Low confidence or self-esteem

Feeling overly self-critical or unsure of yourself.

Feeling stuck or lost

Sometimes people simply feel unsure about their direction or want space to reflect on life.

Counselling offers a confidential environment where you can explore these experiences without judgement.

Counselling for Neurodivergent Individuals and Families

Many of the people I work with are neurodivergent or are parents supporting a neurodivergent child.

You may be:

  • exploring a possible autism or ADHD diagnosis

  • navigating the emotional impact of a late diagnosis

  • experiencing autistic burnout or sensory overwhelm

  • supporting a child with additional needs

  • feeling exhausted by the demands of navigating SEND systems

Counselling can provide space to talk openly about these experiences and develop strategies that feel supportive and realistic for you.

What Happens in Counselling?

Counselling provides a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about what is going on in your life.

During sessions we may explore:

  • your thoughts and emotional experiences

  • patterns that may be affecting your wellbeing

  • coping strategies for anxiety and stress

  • ways of building healthier boundaries and relationships

  • practical approaches to managing difficult situations

My approach is integrative and trauma-informed, meaning sessions are adapted to suit your individual needs and move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

It’s Okay to Be Unsure

Many people feel unsure before starting counselling.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Often the first step is simply having a conversation and exploring whether counselling feels right for you.

Taking the First Step

If you are considering counselling, you are welcome to get in touch to ask questions or arrange an initial session.

I offer online counselling across the UK for adults, parents and families seeking support with:

  • anxiety and emotional wellbeing

  • trauma and past experiences

  • relationships and boundaries

  • neurodivergence and autism

Taking the first step can feel difficult, but you don’t have to navigate things alone.
